SNYDER |
Joshua A. Snyder, 32, at large, was charged Friday with theft of motor vehicle. On Thursday, Lester “Scott” Reule of Bellefontaine left his sport utility vehicle running and unattended at a gasoline pump around 8:30 a.m. at Speedway, 600 E. Sandusky Ave.
He came out of the store area to find it gone. It was soon recovered in the area on Bonnie Lane, but items were stolen from inside the SUV.
Friday around 8:25 p.m., an officer of the Bellefontaine Police Department stopped a female motorist who failed to obey a traffic control device at Heritage Drive and Ludlow Road.
Snyder was a passenger in the vehicle wearing clothes matching the suspect in surveillance footage from the Thursday theft. A records check revealed a Hardin County warrant for the suspect.
He was lodged in the Logan County Jail on the warrant and theft charge.

The suspect also allegedly harmed neighbors William V. Gambrel and Trinity L. Burton during his alcohol-fueled outburst at a party next door and in his apartment. He was lodged in jail.
• Montaia Heard, 23, of Springfield, was charged Saturday with public intoxication when she refused to leave La Palma Restaurant, 2201 S. Main St.
Officers arrived around 10:40 p.m. and they were told the suspect entered the bar area with friends and became belligerent. She was left behind.
