Hunter K. Yuretich, 27, of 428 Linden St., was charged Tuesday with domestic violence.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department were called to the residence around 6:45 p.m. and found a five-year-old boy in the rear yard.
The defendant came out the back door, smelling strongly of alcohol, officers report. He denied any physical assault of Aubria L. Harris.
However, Harris reported she was shoved through a baby gate and fell to the floor during an altercation with the suspect.
Officers took photographs of the gate and a coffee maker damaged by Yuretich.
A witness from a neighboring property reported the boy was outside in the fenced yard during the altercation. The witness said Yuretich cursed Harris from outside the residence, grab her by the throat and shove her back in the house, followed by loud banging noises inside.
Yuretich again exited the residence and Harris locked the door behind him.
The defendant was issued a summons and he left the area on foot.
