A city man seen staggering in the 300 block of Walnut Street was jailed early Friday on a public intoxication charge after officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department assessed that he was too intoxicated to safely walk home.
William L. Johnson, 48, of 1114 Heritage Drive, was charged after an officer on patrol saw him walking erratically and stopped him for questioning at 12:19 a.m. He appeared to be heavily intoxicated and needed help getting into the cruiser.
He was taken to the Logan County Jail.
Warrant served
Tamara K. Johnson, 50, of 400 Lincoln Blvd., Apt. 53, Russells Point, was taken into custody on a probation violation during a 2:45 p.m. Thursday session of the Adult Recovery Court at the Logan County Court Center, 140 N. Main St.
Citations issued in crashes
A Bellefontaine motorist was cited for failure to control after his car traveled onto the lawn and struck a bush at First Christian Church, 215 E. Sandusky Ave., officers report.
Ronald C. VanHoose, 31, was westbound on Sandusky Avenue at 1:43 a.m. Tuesday when the vehicle went off the right side of the road, struck a stop sign and then traveled onto church property.
• Sierra J. Spires, 18, of Raymond, was cited for failure to control after a crash in the parking lot of the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center, 2280 U.S. Route 540, at 8 a.m. Thursday. Her sport utility vehicle reportedly struck a parked car owned by Alexa Klingler of DeGraff.
