BRADSHAW JR. |

A deputy on patrol stopped Rickie Bradshaw Jr., 38, of Van Wert, for erratic driving on U.S. Route 33 at County Road 10. The deputy noticed a strong odor of alcohol while questioning the driver and was near his cruiser preparing to administer drunk driving tests when the suspect drove off at a high rate of speed.
The deputy did not initiate a pursuit but called troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol to assist. They stopped the vehicle near the Union County line.
An open bottle of vodka was located in the vehicle and a breath test returned a result of 0.169 percent alcohol, or more than twice the legal limit.
In addition to felony fleeing, Mr. Bradshaw was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, reckless operation and failure to drive in marked lanes.
