20 local races feature no eligible candidates at all
Approximately 3.4 percent of registered county voters will have already voted by the time polls open Tuesday, Nov. 5, to decide a host of local races.
An overwhwelming majority of early voters are over the age of 50, early voting information shows.
Logan County Board of Elections reports the age group with the highest percentage of turnout are 94 to 97 year-old-voters at 13.48 percent. A total of 12 out of 89 voters in that age group have already voted, elections board officials report.
The age groups with the lowest percentage of turnout so far are the 26 to 29, and 30 to 33 year-olds with only 0.61 percent of each of those age groups having voted thus far.
Overall, 23 of 3,752 registered Logan County voters ages 26-33 have early cast ballots.
Approximately 1,054 candidates have requested absentee ballots. Of those, 934 are 50-year-of-age or older.
Despite the 125 candidate races for Logan County, many won’t be decided on Election
Day due to 20 races with no eligible candidates for the office at all.
Those seats will be filled by appointment at a later date.
Additionally, there are six uncontested races featuring a write-in candidate.
