Madalene M. Carnes, 88, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 7:23 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016, at Lima Memorial Hospital in Lima.
She was born in Rushsylvania on Dec. 24, 1927, to the late Clarence and Cora Simmons Titus.
On June 29, 1946, she married Richard Everett “Dick” Carnes in Rushsylvania and he preceded her in death Nov. 26, 2010. She also was preceded in death by three sisters, Vadah Cordrey, Bernita Kelly and an infant sister, Doris May.
Survivors include her two children, Pamela (Larry) Flora of West Liberty and Gary (Marilyn) Carnes of Bellefontaine; four grandchildren, Krista (Mathew) Henry, Greg (Tracy) Flora, Bradley Carnes and Courtney (T.J.) Yoder; nine great-grandchildren, Joshua Carnes, Preston Carnes, Hayden Yoder, Savannah Yoder, Jackson Henry, A.J. Henry, Eli Woodruff, Grace Woodruff and Zane Woodruff; a sister, Erma Boysel; and many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women. She had worked at Merchants Industries, Bulldog Electric, and Siemens.
Pastor H. Kearns officiates a funeral service at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine, where visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30. Burial is in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
