Lowell L. Hines, 70, of Quincy and formerly of West Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
Born April 23, 1946, in Byhalia, he was a son of the late Lloyd H. and Mary Alice Eastman Hines.
Lowell was a truck driver for more than 47 years, most recently with CPC Logistics Worldwide. He was a fan of the Cincinnati Bengals, loved watching or listening to baseball games of any sort and enjoyed watching the “old” westerns on TV.
On July 1, 2000, he married his loving wife, the former Carol A. Kendall, and she survives in Quincy.
Also surviving are his children, Todd Hines of Sidney, Ashley (Elvis) Purtee of Alger and Alice (Ralph) Turner of Bellefontaine; a stepson, Justin (Amanda) Trostel of Quincy; his brothers and sisters, Caroline Sue (Gary) Gillen, Charles (Maryanna) Hines, Paul Hines, Victor (Melanie) Hines, Esther Douglas, Jeffrey Hines, Rose (Bill) Miller and Sarah Stewart; and numerous nieces, nephews, great- nieces and nephews and great-great- nieces and nephews.
He also was preceded in death by his children, Justin and Phoebe; a stepson, David; his sisters, Nancy, Naomi and Alice Marie, and a brother, Franklin.
Funeral services are at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, at the Wilson Funeral Home-Schnurrenberger Chapel, 222 W. Center St., West Mansfield, where calling begins at 4 p.m. prior to the service.
Pastor Doug Thompson officiates and burial is at a a later date in the Byhalia Cemetery.
