Loretta T. Siebeneck, 101 1/2, of Lakeview, passed away Sunday, Aug. 13, 2017, at Indian Lake Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Feb. 2, 1916, in Putnam County, to the late Fred and Elizabeth Ellerbrock Verhoff.
On Feb. 19, 1938, she married Gilbert Siebeneck, and he preceded her in death Aug. 4, 1986.
She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Michael Oakley, three brothers, Cletus, Amos and Norbert Verhoff; and three sisters, Eleanor Siebeneck, Lucille Kleman and Louise Llewellyn.
She is survived by five children, Anna Davis of Santa Fe, Louise (David) Stang of Sidney, Beatrice (James) Schaub of Wapakoneta, Bonnie (Richard) Quinn of Henniker, N.H., and Charles (Carol) Siebeneck of Lakeview; a brother, Fred Verhoff; a special niece, Jean (Ronald) Pestel, Honolulu, Hawaii; 16 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
An active member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Russells Point since 1945, she was a member of the Altar Sodality and founder and first president of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia in Russells Point. She was a housewife and a farmer, milking cows for over 70 years. She was instrumental in helping a missionary drill several water wells in Africa. She enjoyed gardening and mowing grass, which she did until her 95th birthday.
Father Shawn Landenwitch will begin a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 18, at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, 464 Madison Ave. Russells Point, with visitation one hour prior. Burial is in Walnut Hill Cemetery, New Hampshire, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary of the Woods Roof Fund or St Vincent de Paul Society.
