Pair of narcotic enforcement operations successful
Members of the Logan County Unified Drug Task Force report a pair of narcotic enforcement operations have been conducted this week, resulting in several arrests and capping off a productive time in halting dangerous drugs from hitting the streets.
“The Task Force is dedicated to stopping the flow on dangerous drugs into the county, and and over the last three weeks the Task Force has seized 105 grams of methamphetamine, 41.6 grams of cocaine and 14.5 grams of fentanyl,” Task Force officers report.
Thursday, the Task Force located Adrian L. Gregory, 36, of Sidney, at a residence in the 13000 block of Ash Street in Lakeview.
Gregory, a fugitive, was wanted on numerous drug related warrants out of Shelby County. After a brief standoff, Gregory was taken into custody without further incident.
Task Force officers also made contact with Milecha Whitacre, 45, who was out on bond for a previous drug-related offense.
Whitacre admitted to officers that she had fentanyl hidden on her person. Whitacre was found to have over 14 grams of fentanyl concealed on her person. She was arrested for a probation violation and charges are being forwarded to the Logan County Prosecutor for second-degree felony possession of fentanyl.
Officers note that earlier this year on Feb. 25, Whitacre was arrested for possession of fentanyl and brought to the Logan County Jail. During the booking process, it is was discovered that Whitacre had conveyed a large amount of fentanyl into the jail, concealed on her person.
Whitacre reportedly intentionally ripped open the bag of fentanyl, in an attempt to destroy evidence, causing a fentanyl exposure to six correction officers and Task Force officers.
Also Thursday, the Logan County Unified Drug Task Force conducted a second narcotic enforcement operation and conducted a traffic stop at Madison Avenue and Lincoln Boulevard in Russells Point.
Tiffany M. Haynes, 34, was arrested for aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine, a second-degree felony.
Task Force officers then assisted compliance officers with the Logan County Court of Common Pleas in searching her residence and 6.9 grams of methamphetamine was recovered from the residence.
This narcotic enforcement operation was a result of a lengthy investigation by the Task Force and additional charges for trafficking in methamphetamine are being forwarded to the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office.
