The Midwest Regional Educational Service Center will host the 2022 Logan County Spelling Bee Thursday, Jan. 20, at Riverside Local Schools.
The contest will begin promptly at 6 p.m. in the school auditorium.
Contestants in the spelling bee are the top two spelling bee winners from Bellefontaine, Indian Lake, Riverside and Benjamin Logan school buildings for grades one through eight.
The 2022 contestants are:
• Bellefontaine Intermediate School — Blakely Vollrath, fifth-grade, parents: Jacey and Ben Vollrath; and Desmond Clark, fifth-grade, parents: Kirsten and Doug Clark.
• Bellefontaine Middle School — Anthony Sylvia, eighth-grade, parents: Crystal Lopez and Bryce Sylvia; Max Fissel, eighth-grade, parents: Stephanie and Mark Fissel.
• Indian Lake Middle School — Grace Johnson, seventh-grade, parents: Tim and Donna Johnson; Kirk Beres, fifth-grade, parents: Ben Beres and Sarah Beres.
• Benjamin Logan Middle School — Wyatt Gordon, seventh-grade, parents: Eric and Summer Gordon; Holly Coaty, seventh-grade, parent: Christy Coaty.
• Riverside Middle School — Gillian Knight, eighth-grade, parents: Stephanie and Brian Knight; Kara Klingler, seventh-grade, parents: Donna and Steve Klingler.
• Riverside Elementary — Clara McGill, sixth-grade, parents: Tim and Amy McGill; Samuel Jackson, fourth-grade, parent: Trina Jackson
In case of cancellation, the make-up date is set for Jan. 27.
