Logan County received more than half a million dollars in 2016 from quarterly distributions from Ohio’s three major casinos.
And county schools combined to collect more than $350,000 from tax payments from casinos in Columbus, Cincinnati and Cleveland, according to information from the Ohio Department of Taxation.
Logan County received $120,360.03 from its final quarterly casino tax payment. That allocation brought the 2016 total collection to $522,929.34.
As for the schools, Bellefontaine City Schools collected $59,633.18 for its second casino tax distribution of the year. Benjamin Logan was paid out $39,221.03; Indian Lake received $38,383.48; Riverside got $15,697.98; and Ohio Hi-Point received $16,272.30.
