Two Logan County sheep exhibitors from the Miami Valley Producers 4-H Club fared well at the Ohio State Fair which concluded Sunday.
Ava Shroyer, daughter of John and Lori Shroyer of DeGraff, exhibited the champion Dorset market lamb and the reserve champion Southdown market lamb.
Kroger and the Ohio Club Lamb Boosters paid $2,200 for the champion lamb and $2,100 for the reserve champion at the auction.
Ava also was named the outstanding 10-year-old market lamb exhibitor.
Jackson Grimes, son of Richard and Melissa Kinney of Lewistown showed the champion and reserve champion Montadale market lamb.
The champion animal was purchased for $1,600 by Huffman’s Market and the Ohio Club Lamb Boosters.
Umbarger Show Feeds, Hudawn Facility Solutions, Customs Cabs & Trailers, Reproduction Specialty Group, Shroyer Show Stock, Buckeye Online Equipment and the Ohio Club Lamb Boosters paid $2,400 for the reserve champion.
The market lamb competition included 216 exhibitors and 668 market lambs.
