Over the weekend, nine competitors, three coaches and six volunteers from Discovery Riders participated in the 2016 Special Olympics Ohio State Equestrian Competition at the Winton Woods Riding Center in Cincinnati.
Special Olympics Equestrian encompasses several disciplines during the two-day event. Riders choose either English or Western tack and enter the appropriate classes of showmanship, western barrel racing and western working trail.
Discovery riders earned several honors with T.J. Grose of Union County winning gold in Western barrel racing.
