Local health and law enforcement officials will take part in the annual National Medication Take Back initiative with an event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22.
Residents wishing to dispose of unwanted or expired medications that day can do so via a drive-through service under the canopy of the main entrance to Mary Rutan Hospital, along Madriver Street.
No liquids or inhalers can be accepted, but sharps are accepted.
Residents are also reminded they may dispose of unused or expired pills or patches in permanent drop boxes located at the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, 284 S. County Road 32, 24 hours a day, or at the Russells Point Police Department, 433 Orchard Island Road, Russells Point, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
