Electrical repairs are among the improvements on tap for the sheep and hog barn after Logan County Fair Board members approved Wednesday in a regular meeting allocation of proceeds taken from last year’s livestock sale.
Sales committee members recommended the plan, which was accepted by the full board. Last year, the fair board voted to direct 1 percent of livestock sales for infrastructure improvements on the fairgrounds.
About $3,000 in total improvements were approved, including the improvements to the electrical systems in the barn.
In other fair business, to encourage timely filing of junior fair entries, the board formally adopted a $200 fine to be paid for each late junior fair entry, effective for this year’s fair.
