Logan County Libraries is participating in the global effort with Astronomers Without Borders to recycle eclipse glasses from this year’s solar event.
Instead of throwing the glasses away, residents can take them to the Knowlton Library and donate them to be distributed in Third World nations where partial solar eclipses will occur in the near future.
NASA reports that, if stored properly, glasses without scratches or tears can be reused indefinitely and could be used safely on April 8, 2024, when Logan County will experience a total eclipse event.
