CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story provided an incorrect location of where trailers were possibly unlawfully removed.
A criminal investigation could be forthcoming into whether the owner of a mobile home park unlawfully removed trailers from Star Mobile Homes, Midway, property ravaged by the March 14 tornado.
Officers of the Washington Township Police Department are asking any owner or occupant of Star Mobile Homes that may have had a trailer removed from the property without their consent to call the department at 937-686-8024 and report the incident.
The property owner at Star Mobile Homes has reportedly ordered multiple homes to be removed from the community without the consent of the owners/occupants, Washington Township Police Chief Michael Thompson reported.
The police chief said he had previously talked to the property owner and was assured that no mobile homes would be hauled away without consent.
“We have since learned that at least three mobile homes have been removed without the consent of the owner/occupant, Chief Thompson said. “We ask that any owner/occupant of Star Mobile Homes that was impacted by the inappropriate actions of the owners to contact us.
“After speaking with our legal counsel, we feel that the actions taken by the owners warrant a criminal investigation,” Chief Thompson concluded.
