Trey Lane pitched a five-inning perfect game to lead state-ranked Riverside past visiting Jackson Center 10-0 on Tuesday in a non-league contest.

The Pirates, who are ranked second in the latest Division IV state poll, improve their record to 18-3.
Lane was flawless on the mound to record the win. He had five strikeouts and did not allow a hit or a walk. Riverside’s defense did its job with no errors.
Riverside got its offense going early and scored three runs in the first inning. The Pirates added three more runs in the third inning and one run in the fourth inning for a 7-0 advantage. They sealed the run-rule win by scoring three runs in the fifth inning.
Lane also led the Pirates at the plate, going 3-3 with four RBI.
