The Indian Lake High School homecoming court will represent their school during the Community Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally in downtown Russells Point Thursday and the Indian Lake homecoming game Friday night. The court is made up of queen Ella Shoffstall, center, and from the left: sophomore Kaitlyn Shaner, junior attendant Grace Pequignot, senior attendant Kaitlyn Boberg and freshman attendant Mackenzie Dixon. Russells Point Police and Indian Lake Schools invite families, neighbors and all Indian Lake Laker fans and alumni to line Main Street for the 13th annual homecoming parade at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. The parade will feature dozens of floats showcasing Indian Lake student athletes, band members, local law enforcement, student organizations, staff and the 2021 homecoming queen and court. Groups will hand out candy and other small prizes. The theme for this year’s homecoming event is “Getting Back to Work! Work Over the Hillclimbers!” Each high school class and club will decorate their float in honor of essential workers and other local careers. In addition, establishments along the parade route are encouraged to decorate their exteriors. The ILHS Student Council will present an award for the business with the Best Spirit. After the parade, McDonald’s of Indian Lake hosts a pep rally in the overflow parking lot next to the restaurant, where cheerleaders will introduce the coaches, fall athletes and homecoming court. There will be a DJ and dancing. Indian Lake Schools hosts Homecoming Pregame Festivities at Laker Stadium Friday, with spectator gates opening at 5:15 p.m. The parade of cars featuring the queen and her court begins at 6:10 p.m. The Marching Lakers will play at 6:40 p.m. Kick-off is at 7 p.m. vs. Urbana.
