An up-tempo and athletic Springfield basketball team was too much for Benjamin Logan’s girls on Monday as the visiting Wildcats ran away with a 61-49 non-league win.
The loss drops the Raiders to 4-7 on the season as the Wildcats move to 4-6.
Springfield pulled ahead 12-9 after the opening quarter. The Wildcats outscored the Raiders 20-15 in the second quarter to lead 32-24 at the break.
The Wildcats broke the game open in the third period with a 16-8 run. That boosted the Wildcats to a 16-point advantage (48-32).
Savannah Pavoni led the Raiders with 13 points and nine rebounds, Lynzee Cronkleton had nine points and six rebounds, Peyton Derr had eight points, six rebounds, seven assists and three steals and Kerry Copenhaver added eight points.
Ben Logan is back on the court Saturday at home against Northwestern.
