The local sectional softball tournament pairings were announced Sunday by the Southwest District, with Indian Lake earning the number one seed in Division III.
The Lady Lakers, with a record of 18-1 and ranked second in the Division III state coaches poll, have a first-round bye. They will play at home Wednesday, May 10, against the winner of the first-round game between 15th seed Preble Shawnee and 18th seed Northridge.
Also in Division III, West Liberty-Salem is seeded 13th and the Tigers will host 16th-seeded Dixie on Monday, May 8.
Raiders seeded second in D2
Benjamin Logan has enjoyed a strong season and the Raiders were rewarded with the second seed for the Tecumseh Division II sectional tournament.
The Raiders have a first-round bye and they could possibly host Logan County rival Bellefontaine on Thursday, May 11, in the second round if the fifth-seeded Chiefs can get by eighth-seeded Northwestern on Tuesday, May 9, at BHS.
Riverside receives fifth seed in D4
Riverside’s softball team will look to make a postseason run as the fifth seed in the Division IV sectional tournament. The Pirates will host ninth-seeded Bradford on Thursday, May 11.
Also in Division IV, Triad is the 12th seed and the Cardinals will travel to Newton for a first-round game May 11.
