Bellefontaine’s girls golf team clinched its seventh straight Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail division title Monday at the league tournament at the Elks Golf Course in Springfield.
Jonathan Alder won the Kenton Trail division tournament with a 385 to a 392 for the Chiefs. However, the second-place finish was enough to secure the season title.
BHS senior Kayla Watkins shot an 83 and earned Kenton Trail player of the year honors.
Kyndal Newkirk carded a 92 and earned second-team KT honors, Lexi Buffkin shot 105 and grabbed a spot on the all-league first team, Kate Myers had a 112 and was special mention all CBC and Emily Taylor had a 113 to earn second-team CBC honors. Ally Barker added a 117.
Benjamin Logan’s girls team finished fourth in the Mad River division with a 514.
Kate Hahn led the Raiders with a 122. Kensley Lacher shot a 126 and Malori Barnes and G Saunders both shot 133.
Lady Pirates zap Jets Riverside’s girls golf team beat Northeastern 224-260 at National Golf Links on Monday.
The Pirates’ Reaghan McDaniel was the medalist with a 42. Emma Saylor shot a 55, Zoie Armbruster had a 62 and Cassie May and Ava Klingler both shot 65s.
Chieftain boys slip to London
Bellefontaine’s boys golf team lost to London 163-173 in a Central Buckeye Conference match Monday at Liberty Hills Golf Club.
Austin Hammond shot a 36 to earn medalist honors for the Chiefs. Joseph Boop carded a 41, Collen Brugler had a 44 and Rory Pierce shot 52.
Bellefontaine will play in the CBC tournament on Thursday at the Ridge Golf and Gardens in Marysville.
Riverside boys fall to M-Union
Riverside’s boys golf team was defeated by Milton-Union 188-209 at Homestead Golf Course on Monday.
Milton-Union’s Grady Vechazone was the medalist with a 37.
Jaxon Woods led the pirates with a 46. Gavin Robinson had a 53, Reece Jenkins shot 54, Ayden Clary had a 56, Hayden McCully had a 57 and Hayden Sanford shot 63.
Lady Tigers lose to Indians
West Liberty-Salem’s girls golf team lost to Mechanicsburg 214-263 on Monday.
