Bellefontaine’s girls soccer team handled host Benjamin Logan 6-1 on Thursday in a Central Buckeye Conference matchup to end the regular season.

The Chieftains improve to 7-7-2 overall and 5-3-2 in the CBC standings. The Raiders fall to 3-11-1, 1-8-1.
Caitlyn Shumaker powered BHS in the first half with three goals. Karma Williams provided one assist and Daja Wilson provided another assist.
Wilson also scored a goal in the first half off an assist from Caitlyn Shumaker.
Ben Logan managed to score once in the first half, but still trailed Bellefontaine 4-1 at the break.
The Chieftains’ Alanee Yaeger scored unassisted in the second half to increase her team’s lead to 5-1.
Caitlyn Shumaker added her fourth goal of the night to make it a 6-1 advantage.
Shumaker now has 23 goals on the season and eclipsed the previous record of 19 she shared with Regan Price.
Bellefontaine hosts Northwestern on Monday for tournament action.
Tigers tie Irish
West Liberty-Salem’s girls soccer team battled host Springfield Catholic Central 2-2 on Thursday in Ohio Heritage Conference action.
The Tigers move their record to 7-5-3 overall and 6-1-1 in the OHC standings, while the Irish are now 9-3-1, 7-1-1.
Emily Hollar and Sophie Cole both had a goal and an assist to lead the WLSalem offense. Defensively for the Tigers, Delaney Wade recorded seven saves in goal.
WL-Salem ends the regular season Saturday at Southeastern.
