Krista Joy McDonald, 41, of Ridgeway, passed away at 9:31 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, as a result of an automobile accident.
She was born in Kenton on Feb. 7, 1976, a daughter of Jerold Kia and Kathy Wren Ansley.
On Feb. 15, 2014, she married Ted McDonald, and he survives, along with two daughters, Norma Jean Ansley and L’Wren Joy McDonald; stepchildren, Joseph Paul McDonald and Brice Elizabeth McDonald; a sister, Jennifer Kay (Gavin) Strickland; and a nephew, Wyatt Strickland.
A 1994 graduate of Ridgemont High School, Krista was a member of the Church of God in Ridgeway. She worked as a dispatcher for the Bellefontaine Police Department for 14 years. She also dispatched for both the Logan and Hardin County Sheriff Departments, and served as a volunteer EMT for the Southeast Hardin Ambulance District. Krista was instrumental in the operations of their two family businesses, Kritters Korner Trucking and Gardner’s Delight.
Calling is from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at the First Church of God, 1000 E. Brown Ave., Bellefontaine, where Pastor Tim Kohl officiates a funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20. Burial follows in Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty.
