RAGER |
Union County Sheriff’s deputies have charged Christopher R. Rager, 32, of Kenton, with one misdemeanor count of inducing panic after allegedly making threats Friday at Honda’s Marysville Auto Plant.
He was detained by Honda’s security teams and was in possession of a toy gun, Sheriff Jamie Patton reports.
Deputies took him into custody after the 8 a.m. reported threat and lodged him in the Tri-County Regional Jail, pending an appearance Monday in Marysville Municipal Court.
Honda’s Corporate Affairs Spokeswoman Caroline Ramsey said initial reports of an associate with a gun turned out to be a hoax.
Plant staff followed protocol with security teams quickly containing the incident. There was minimal disruption to the autoplant’s operations, Ramsey reported.
Honda officials will review appropriate actions regarding the associate as the investigation unfolds, she said.
“The safety of our associates remains a top priority,” she said.
“We take these issues seriously and respond accordingly.”
