Kathleen Sharon ‘’Sherri’’ Engle, age 76, of Bellefontaine, passed away peacefully at her childhood home surrounded by family and her cats on Sunday, October 2, 2022.
Sherri was born June 4, 1946, to the late Kenneth C. Miller and Dorothy (Strayer) Miller, in Bellefontaine, Ohio. She was an only child and was very spoiled. On July 15, 1966, she married John ‘’Jack’’ Engle in Bellefontaine, Ohio. Sherri and Jack were married for 52 years.
Sherri enjoyed traveling the United States with her parents as a child; she also enjoyed bowling, shopping, volunteering as a guild member for Mary Rutan Hospital, reading and collecting books, her cats, and spending time with her family and friends. In 2021 she was recognized as the oldest serving poll worker in Logan County.
Sherri is survived by her three children, Kenneth (Rachel) Engle, Melissa Engle, and Joshua (Sandra) Engle; grandchildren, Simon Engle, Logan Engle, Samuel Engle, Cheyenne Engle, Amber (John) Carey, and Ashley Ewing; several great-grandchildren and one on the way; many other loving family members and close friends.
Sherri is preceded in death by her husband Jack and four grandchildren; Cory Whitaker, Zachary Whitaker, Robbie Smith, and Wyatt Smith.
A time of gathering to celebrate Sherri’s life will be held Thursday, October 6, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial of ashes will take place at a later date in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
