The final man involved in a spring 2016 shootout at the King’s Landing area of Stokes Township was found guilty Wednesday after a jury trial in Logan County Common Pleas Court.
Scott Stein, 47, of Celina, was found guilty of felonious assault and shooting into a habitation.
Testimony indicated Stein traveled to Indian Lake armed with two handguns to recover property stolen from a Celina storage unit. The owner of the home, Jason Davidson, 40, tackled Stein and the shoot-out occurred wounding Stein, court personnel report.
Davidson has already pleaded guilty and been sentenced to three years in prison for having a weapon under disability, aggravated assault and two counts of theft.
Two other men, Michael Vogler of Lakeview and Brett Eley of Wapakoneta, were also charged in connection with the incident and each has been sentenced to community control for their roles.
The jury of nine men and three women deliberated about an hour convicting Stein of the two charges with gun specifications.
Logan County Prosecutor Eric Stewart presented the state’s case while appointed attorney Steve Chamberlain of Lima represented the defendant. Assigned Judge Mark O’Connor presided.
A presentence investigation was ordered and sentencing is set for Aug. 23.
