WL-Salem boys, girls win Graham Invite
West Liberty-Salem’s boys and girls junior high track and field teams continue to dominate its competition and did so again Thursday by winning the Graham Invitational.
The Tiger girls ran away with the meet after scoring 163 points. Benjamin Logan came in second with 76.5 points. Riverside finished ninth with 20 points and Indian Lake was 11th with 16 points.
WL-Salem’s boys won their meet with 89 points and set three school records. Miami East was second with 66 points and Northwestern was third with 64 points. Ben Logan’s boys finished sixth with 48 points, Indian Lake was 12th with 28 points and Riverside took 13th with 17 points.
Gracie Serna led the Tiger girls by winning the discus with a new school record throw of 100-8. Other wins came from Kate Stapleton in the 800 (2:35) and the 1,600 (5:36), Camrin Rice in the 100 hurdles (16.8) and the long jump (13-9), Gracie Estes in the 200 hurdles (31.09) and the 800 relay of Megan Dillon, Lydia Moell, Sophie Cole and Estes (1:56.9).
