Joyce B. Lyon, 75, of Middleburg, passed away Friday evening, Nov. 6, 2020, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
Joyce was born in Columbus on March 1, 1945, to the late Richard A. and Goldie P. (Carpenter) Bell.
Joyce is survived by her husband, William Lyon, whom she married on Sept. 9, 1967, in Columbus. She is also survived by her daughter, Rena Lyon of Columbus; sister Paula (Paul) Greer of Columbus; two nephews and a niece.
A 1963 graduate of Columbus Linden-McKinley High School, Joyce earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from The Ohio State University. She taught for more than 20 years at Ohio Hi-Point as a special education teacher. Joyce loved to read, and was a member of S&C Women’s Club and the Middleburg Garden Club. She was also a member of Middleburg United Methodist Church.
Friends may call at the Middleburg United Methodist Church, 11824 State Route 287, Middleburg, on Friday, Nov. 13, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., where Pastor Carolyn Christman will officiate Joyce’s funeral at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Middleburg Cemetery.
