Jonas Hershberger, 85, of Huntsville, passed away Thursday morning, December 17, 2020 at the home of his daughter Barbara (Paul) Yoder.
He was born in Hartville, Ohio on April 22, 1935 to the late Atlee A. and Katie (Miller) Hershberger. He married Edna (Coblentz) Hershberger on May 20, 1954 in Hartville, Ohio.
He is survived by his five daughters, Ruth (Leon) Troyer of Belle Center, Kathryn (Ron) Wagler of Cross Hill, South Carolina, Barbara (Paul) Yoder of Huntsville, Mary (John) Mast of Lyndonville, New York, Marlene (David) Yoder of Rushsylvania; one son, James (Iva) Hershberger of Antrim, Ohio; one son-in-law, Mahlon (Amy) Coblentz of Bremen; 39 grandchildren; and 81 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna, two daughters, Emma Coblentz and Delilah Wagler; son-in-law, Dave Wagler; three grandchildren, Deborah Rose, Joel David, and Steven Ray Yoder; a brother, Eli Hershberger; and a half sister, Mary Hershberger.
Jonas was a member of the Belle Center Amish Church. He was ordained to the ministry in 1975. His children and grandchildren were always close to his heart.
Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, December 19, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Steven Coblentz residence, 7443 County Road 49, in Belle Center, where Bishop Marcus Schlabach conducts a funeral at 9 a.m. on Sunday, December 20th. Burial will be in the Belle Center Amish Cemetery.
