Logan County Job & Family Services and Logan County Children’s Services have formed a new partnership to oversee the county’s adult protective services.
Effective immediately, Children’s Services Case Manager McKenzie Bumgarner will be the case manager for all APS investigations.
This new partnership will work with elderly who are in danger of harm, unable to protect themselves, and/or have no one else to assist them.
Local agencies are mandated to investigate and evaluate all reports of suspected abuse, neglect, and exploitation of vulnerable adults age 60 and over.
JFS Director Cynthia L. Heffner said the agencies have collaborated in the past to provide around the clock APS services, and with the retirement of APS Therese Calland, the agencies decided to move case management to the CSEA.
It will be a cost savings for both agencies, she said.
