Janet Marker, 77, of Bellefontaine, passed away Saturday evening, Dec. 14, 2019, at Campbell Place.
Janet was born in Champaign County on June 15, 1942, to the late Orval and Margaret (Couchman) Marker. She was also preceded in death by a brother Charles Marker, and sisters, Sandra Marker, Betty Hoyng, and Janet’s twin Jeanette Marker.
Janet is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and sister-in-law, Georgia Marker of Lakeview.
Janet was a retired teacher, having taught for 30 years in Bellefontaine City Schools. She was a 1969 graduate of Asbury College and a 1981 graduate of Wright State University where she obtained her Master’s degree in education. Janet was a volunteer in the gift shop of the Logan County Friendly Senior Center. She enjoyed art, especially watercolor painting and tole painting. Locally, she was the co-founder of the American Association of University Women.
Pastor Bryan Meadows officiates Janet’s funeral service on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 20019, at noon at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Bellefontaine. Visitation is one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Huntsville Cemetery.
