Jane Evelyn Richardson, 79, passed away April 27, 2017, in Brooksville, Fla.
She was born Nov. 4, 1937, in Bellefontaine and was a resident of Marysville for 50 years.
She is predeceased by her father and mother, Jonathan W. and Catherine E. Allen Richardson; great-nephews, Nolan, son of Kellea (Sean) Wilkinson, Wilbur, son of Allen (Sheila) Campbell, and Daniel, son of David (Carol) Campbell.
She is survived by her companion of 50 years, Carol Schell; three sisters, LoaLea (Ed) Greider, Molly (Curt) Garver and Beth (Mark) Finkler; a brother, Jay Dean (Linda) Richardson; special nephews, Kevin Wade (Wendy) Richardson and Craig P. (Lisa) Godfrey; loving family of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and friends. She will be missed by many.
Jane is a graduate of Zanesfield High School. She was also a graduate with honors from Wittenberg College and The Ohio State University with two master’s degrees. Jane taught history for Bellefontaine City Schools, interned as school psychologist with Licking County Schools and worked as school psychologist in the Logan County Schools from 1967 to 1990. After retiring she went into private practice with Adkins and Stokes and consulted with members of The Ohio State University. She returned to work as a school psychologist with Madison-Champaign Educational Service Center from 1998 to 2010 while continuing private practice. She retired from private practice in 2014.
Jane and Carol bred and raised numerous Siamese kittens over the years. She loved to travel, read, and was an avid OSU women’s basketball fan. After Jane listened to a conversation she would reply with accurate, concise language that spoke to the issue with common sense and humor.
Memorial services will be at a later date and contributions can be made to a neurological institution for brain injuries of the donor’s choice.
