James L. Guthrie, 77, of Lakeview, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017, at the Ross Heart Hospital, Columbus.
He was born Feb. 1, 1940, in Bellefontaine, a son of Earl H. and Nina Marie Winder)Guthrie.
James was a member of the Urbana Church of Christ in Christian Union. He served his country in the United States Air Force for eight years and worked as an engineer for the Conrail Railroad for 20 years. He also served Country Auto as their notary for 17 years.
His survivors include his wife, Trudy Crew Guthrie; daughters, Cami (Pat) Keating, Victoria (Jeff) Flannery and April (Jason) Smith; sons, Michael (Tami) Guthrie, Derek (Ashley) Graham and Michael Graham; sisters, Peg Sanders, Lauretta (Bob) Henry, Shirley Kiser and Mary Johnson; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Heather Flannery; sisters, Sandra Kelly and Deloris Preston; and brother, Dean Guthrie.
He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
James’ funeral service will be noon Monday, March 13, at Jennings Farley Funeral Home, West Liberty, with Pastor Mike Grable and Pastor Bobby Henry officiating. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
