James “Jim” Jackson, 61, of Marengo, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville.
Jim was born on January 29, 1960 in Columbus, to the late James Jackson and Tootie (Wilcox) Mowery. Jim went on to follow in his father’s footsteps by working in the meat industry. A United States Army veteran, Jim proudly served the United States as he was stationed at the DMZ line in South Korea.
On September 19, 1981, Jim married the love of his life Debra “Sue” (Bailey) Jackson. From that day forward, they were never far apart from one another. Together they would raise a family and go on to create countless memories. Jim had an incredible passion for music. He enjoyed listening, singing, and playing along to all kinds of tunes. Especially when he was playing the guitar that he made, or when he was in the presence of his family.
In addition to his loving wife of over forty years, those left to cherish Jim’s memory are his son Joshwa (Mary) Jackson and their daughters Amanda, Heather, Kallie, and Sophia. Son Christopher (Nicole) Jackson and their daughters Madison, and Makayla. Daughter Misty (Jerry) Reisinger and their daughters Paige, Emma, Alivia, and Mirai. Daughter Bridget Coldiron. Five greatgrandchildren. His brother Mark (Lorraine) Jackson. Sisters Vicki (Rick) Dunlavy, and Terri (Jerry) Ropp. Uncle Tony (Claudia) Jackson. Aunt Wanda “Doni” (Susan) Jackson. As well as his stepfather Bill Mowery.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents.
A visitation will be held at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home in Sunbury from noon to 2: p.m. Sunday, September 5, with a celebration of life service directly following at 2 p.m. with Tom Dea’therage (funeral celebrant) officiating.
