Jack Brown, 90, of Belle Center, passed away at 1:11 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2020, at Campbell Place in Bellefontaine. He was born in DeGraff, on April 3, 1930, a son of the late Hamilton W. “H.W.” and Mildred E. (Ritenour) Brown.
On Oct. 19, 1958, Jack married the former Mary K. “G.G.” Williams in DeGraff, and she preceded him in death Feb. 1, 2010. He was also preceded in death by a great granddaughter Lyndzey Brooke Cox; four sisters; and four brothers.
Jack is survived by three children, Kathrine L. (Douglas) Johnson of West Liberty, Vernon (Mary Ann) Brown of Belle Center, and Bernard Brown of Huntsville; six grandchildren, Michael (Michele) Brown, Stephen (Stephanie) Brown, Stephanie (Travis) Hicks, Nichole Johnson, Douglas (Charity) Johnson II, and Ginger (Kenneth) Brown; 17 great grandchildren, Logan Brown, Cierra Brown, Carleena Reth, Kristen Johnson, Heather Johnson, Taylor Johnson, Douglas “D.J.” Johnson III, Tyler Cox, Joshua Cox, Izik Cox, Kenneth Specht II, Addison Murphy, Reese Murphy, Cassidy Hicks, Torri Hicks, T.J. Hicks, and Mickayla Brown; two great-great grandsons, Paxton Shane Smith and Daniel Archer; a sister, Rachel “Annie” Smith of West Liberty; a brother, George Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A U.S. Army Korean War veteran, Jack served with Co. E – 2nd Bn – 172nd INF-REGIMENT – 43rd DIV. He had worked as a truck driver for Ritter Brothers in Bellefontaine and Imperial Cup in Kenton for a total of 46 years. He later worked for the Village of Belle Center for eight years. Jack was a wonderful father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
A private funeral service will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center.
