Springfield Catholic Central’s boys basketball team grabbed an early lead against host West Liberty-Salem on Friday and rolled to a 56-41 Ohio Heritage Conference win.
The Tigers fall to 5-4 on the season and are 3-3 in the OHC standings. The Irish boost their record to 7-1 overall and are now 5-0 in the league.
Catholic Central jumped ahead 17-6 at the end of the first quarter. WL-Salem closed the gap with a 13-11 effort in the second quarter, but still trailed 28-19 at the break.
