Amelio Peluso III, 48, of 115 W. Elliott Road, Russells Point, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs following a one-vehicle injury crash about 5:10 p.m. Tuesday.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report he was operating a northbound car on County Road 130 just south of County Road 13 when he drove off the left side of the road and then went back onto the road. His vehicle then went off the right side of the road and struck a Dayton Power & Light utility pole.
Deputies observed that the driver displayed signs of intoxication. He was transported by Bellefontaine squad to Mary Rutan Hospital for incapacitating injuries. He submitted to a blood alcohol content test, and test results are pending.
His car sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Mr. Peluso also was cited for failure to control.
