A total of four young ladies from Indian Lake High School gained valuable experience in the operation of government and made friends for a lifetime at Buckeye Girls State this summer.
Lindsey Bodi, daughter of Tiffany Phillips of Belle Center; Paige Monroe, daughter of Beau and Angela Monroe of Lakeview; Macie Robinson, daughter of Matt and Anna Robinson; and Rachel Wahl, daughter of Mark and Michelle Wahl of Huntsville; were selected to represent Indian Lake High School at the 2021 Buckeye Girls’ State on the University of Mount Union campus.
Buckeye Girls’ State is sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary of Ohio. It is locally sponsored by the Huntsville Indian Lake Lions and the Charles Collins Ladies Auxiliary Post 381.
Participants must meet several qualifications. Candidates must have completed their junior year in high school, interested in government and current events, and have an above average scholastic standing. The young women must also demonstrate high moral character, possess strong leadership skills, and have a desire for learning.
