IEG Plastics LLC, 223 Lock and Load Road, Bellefontaine, is one of 110 Ohio employers to share more than $2.9 million in grants from the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation to purchase equipment designed to substantially reduce or eliminate workplace injuries and illnesses.
IEG will receive $40,000 to purchase 10 pack stations, 10 thermal label printers, 10 computers with monitors, and eight scales to reduce the risk of injury to fingers, wrist, hands, arms, shoulder, neck, back and legs related to repetitive motion, hand force and awkward postures.
The intervention will improve the process of packing materials.
IEG Plastics is a manufacturer and assembler of plastic products for the automotive industry using plastic injection molding processes.
“BWC’s safety grants not only help workers avoid injury, they encourage employers to become more engaged in what they can do to protect their employees,” said Abe Al-Tarawneh, superintendent of BWC’s division of safety and hygiene. “I applaud these employers for identifying potential risks within their workplaces and taking action to keep workers safe.”
