Joshua J. Phillips, 38, of 416 S. Madriver St., was arrested Tuesday for felony disrupting public services and misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest and domestic violence.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department were called to the residence at 7:05 p.m.
Once there, they heard the defendant loudly arguing with his wife, Chelsea R. Phillips.
It was the second time that day officers were called to the residence.
The wife told officers her husband broke two televisions, damaged her cellular phone in an effort to make it unusable and hit her on the left side of her face.
Officers observed bruising and redness along her jaw.
The defendant denied hitting his wife.
Officers placed him in handcuffs and he became combative. He cursed at officers as they forcefully escorted him to a cruiser.
He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
• Gage L Rollins, 19, of 909 N. Main St., was taken into custody Tuesday on a failure to appear warrant and charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia after a 6:35 p.m. traffic stop.
An officer on patrol observed him driving an eastbound car with expired license plates on Chillicothe Avenue near Ward Street. The officer was westbound and turned his cruiser around. He observed the car speeding up and then turn south on Elm Street.
The officer lost site of the car and began to patrol the area along with officers.
Rollins was soon observed exited the driver’s side front door and scurrying into the rear seat.
Two bongs were found in the rear seat area and Rollins claimed the items.
He was issued a traffic citation for driving under suspension and transported to jail.
• Kodey R. Triplett, 21, of 1208 Greenwood St., was charged Monday with theft.
He was stopped by store security at Walmart, 2281 S. Main St., around 2:40 p.m. after he tried to leave without paying for a pair of walkie talkies.
He admitted to the attempt when questioned by officers.
