MARYSVILLE — Honda honored nine suppliers at its recent Supplier Sustainability Symposium in Columbus for their commitment and innovative approaches to environmental responsibility in and around their North American facilities.
Those sustainability efforts included biodiversity initiatives, as well as projects that resulted in significant reductions in energy consumption, fresh water use and waste to landfill.
“Our impact on the environment is something that we consider in everything we do at Honda, and our suppliers are making great strides in their own sustainability efforts,” said Mark Willoughby, HNA division manager, procurement. “The suppliers we have recognized this year went above and beyond in developing their own environmental processes, but most importantly, they are making a real difference in their impact on society.”
