A specialty weaving by RTC Services client Morgan Huffer portraying the Holland Theatre has found a home at the theater itself, while also raising money for Logan County Special Olympics.
Huffer is a longtime Holland volunteer and Special Olympics participant. She created the weaving for an auction of art by clients of RTC, a local nonprofit that promotes employment, community connections, and independence in life for people with disabilities.
The purchaser donated the art back to the organization, and Huffer offered the piece to the theater.
As a thank you, Holland staff donated $200 to Logan County Special Olympics.
“We appreciate Morgan’s faithful service at the theater and look forward to seeing her art every day in our ticket office,” said board member Jason Vogel.
During a recent ceremony, Holland Theatre Executive Director Greg Titus presented the check to Rose Canter, Special Olympics and recreation coordinator for the Logan County Board of Disabilities.
RTC clients have an opportunity to learn skills like weaving through The STUDIO: RTC’s Art Connection, an art-centered day program.
