Helen B. Boyer, 96, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 10:39 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12, 2016, at her residence.
She was born in Ross County on June 20, 1920, to the late Charles and Nannie Ross Weaver. On May 17, 1940, she married Forest “Penn” Boyer and he preceded her in death April 4, 2011. She also was preceded in death by a grandson, Ernie “Peewee” Boyer.
She is survived by her son, Ernest Boyer of Bellefontaine; grandchildren, Michael (Kristy) Boyer and Brandy (Michelle) Boyer; seven great-grandchildren; eight great-stepgrandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Janet of Bellefontaine; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Helen loved to cook for family and friends and you never left her house with an empty stomach. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Helen loved listening and playing bluegrass music. She and her husband, Penn, had their own bluegrass band. Helen had a gift of always making people laugh and she will be greatly missed.
Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St., Bellefontaine, followed by a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. in Huntsville Cemetery with Pastor Bryan Meadows officiating.
