Adult dental clinics to be offered through grant
Area youths had the chance last year to participate in dental clinics through a grant program offered in connection with the Logan County Health District, and this year, that opportunity will be expanded to adults in the community, health district officials announced at their Wednesday meeting.
The agency has received a $2,000 Delta Dental Foundation grant to conduct two adult dental clinics during 2016. “The Healthy Mouth, Healthier You” program will provide adults age 19 and older without insurance or those with Medicaid, screenings, X-rays and cleanings.
The initiative is made possible through a collaboration between the health district, Robson Dental, the Community Health and Wellness Partners and Transportation for Logan County.
“This has been a wonderful program that we’ve been able to reach a number of children, and after working awhile on securing the grant, we’re excited to offer it to adults as well,” Nursing Director Kay Schroer said. “This is such a need in the area.”
