Hazel Eileen Black Crouch, 93, a resident of Huntingdon, Pa., for more than 50 years, went to be with her Creator at 12:46 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at her residence.
Born Feb. 15, 1924, in DeGraff, she was a daughter of the late Raymond Edgar and Hazel Mae Stottlemyer Black. She was united in marriage to Howard H. Crouch on June 15, 1947, in Columbus, and he survives at their residence.
In addition to her husband of nearly 70 years, she is survived by her three children, Marc H. (Marie) Crouch of Leesburg, Fla., and Eric A. Crouch and Marsha L. (James) Kyper, both of Huntingdon; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Dorothy Roby of DeGraff; and a cousin, Tedd (Sarah) Long of Bellefontaine.
She also was preceded in death by five sisters, Anita Lane, Pearl Madden, Marie Comer, Marguerite “Maggie” Comer and Lucille “Lucy” Roby.
She was a member of the Stone Church of the Brethren in Huntingdon, was a former member of the Juniata Dames and was active in the Huntingdon Community Theatre.
She attended The Ohio State University.
While residing in Ohio, Mrs. Crouch was employed as assistant to the director of the Ohio Historical Society. After relocating to Huntingdon, she was a member of the support staff at Juniata College in both the Beeghley Library and audio visual department, retiring in 1989 after 25 years of service.
Mrs. Crouch was a highly skilled needlepoint artist, having won best of show in 2008 and numerous blue ribbons at the Huntingdon County Fair.
A celebration of life will be held in Greene, Ohio, where interment takes place in the Greenlawn Cemetery through arrangements by John B. Brown Funeral Home, 417 Washington St., Huntingdon, PA 16652.
