Franklin B. Reams Jr.,75, Zanesfield, passed away at 3:50 p.m. Sunday, April 17, 2022, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio on February 17,1947, a son of the late Franklin Bertrum and Phyllis Jean (Albert) Reams.
On July 2, 1967, Frank married his best friend Janet Kay Smith in Zanesfield, Ohio and she survives, along with their two children, Debbie (Jeff) McCutchen, and Kevin Reams; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Dianne Reams, and Melinda (Jeff) Young; two brothers, Ron (Jan) Reams and Frank (Michael Rosenberg) Rash; a sister-in-law, Namil Rash; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his son, Neil Albert Reams, and a brother George Rash.
A U.S. Air Force Vietnam veteran, Captain Franklin Reams served his country proudly for 10 years. Following his military service, he flew as a corporate pilot until his retirement. He was a member of the Zanesfield United Methodist Church, American Legion Blue Jacket Post #599 in Zanesfield, and member of Top of Ohio Patriots. He dearly loved his family, and especially adored his grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 22, at Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Bellefontaine. Visitation is also from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, at Zanesfield United Methodist Church, 2880 Main Street in Zanesfield, where a funeral service will begin at 3 p.m. Burial will follow in Zanesfield Cemetery in Zanesfield, Ohio.
