Frances Elizabeth Kennaw Longbrake, 85, of Lakeview, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at her home.
Frances was born Jan. 2, 1932, in Toledo, to the late Leon and Clara McGee Kennaw. On Aug. 21, 1950, she married the love of her life, John Longbrake, in Jackson Center. He preceded her in death on May 26, 2005. She is also preceded in death by four siblings, Betty Kennedy, Rose Kindle, Clifton Kennaw and James Kennaw Sr.
Frances is survived by two sisters, Barbara Kennaw of Lakeview and Roberta Runkle of Lima; four sisters-in-law, Gaythel Miller, Betty Oakley, Shirley Oakley and Deanie Kennaw; many loving nieces and nephews, including Letty Runkle, Diane (Ed) Mouser, Becky (Robert) Burney, Mike (Lorna) Brunson and James (Janice) Kennaw Jr.
Frances was a 1950 graduate of Stokes Local Schools. She was a member of the Lewistown-Trinity United Methodist Church. She was an avid reader, enjoyed basket weaving, and collecting Lefton China. Her favorite book and movie was Gone With The Wind. Frances was very proud of her Indian ancestry, a fifth generation Ruth Foreman was born there in 1809.
Pastor Debbie Ketcham begins funeral services at 11 a.m. Monday, July 31, at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview, where visitation is 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday. Burial is in Walnut Hill Cemetery, New Hampshire, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Holland Theatre and Lewistown-Trinity United Methodist Church.
