A former facilities manager for Honda of America Manufacturing Inc. in Marysville has been indicted on federal charges of wire fraud and money laundering.
Charles Michael Stratton, 61, of Fairborn, is charged with 38 counts of wire fraud and six counts of money laundering and faces a maximum of 30 years in prison if convicted.
According to the indictment handed up Friday, Stratton was facilities manager from 2008 until March In his role, he oversaw various vendor contracts, including those for security services, janitorial services, food service and uniform and laundry on behalf of Honda.
He allegedly created multiple purchase orders for payments for just under $100,000, a threshold which requires additional oversight and approval for Honda.
Using these purchase orders, as well as a labor contract, Stratton made it appear that Acrux Investigation Agency of Lakeview and its subsidiary, Surmount, submitted invoices to Honda and instructed the companies to keep the money in a “future fund.”
