From athletes, to actors and accomplished artists, a host of famous Americans are coming alive at Indian Lake Middle School. Cammie Honaker’s fifth-grade advanced language art class recently presented the annual ILMS Living Wax Museum. For the project, they are required to read a biography of a famous American, then create a speech. Then they present their information in costume to ILMS staff and students, family members and other guests. The figures exhibited this year are: Chris Farley (Roman Staley), Ben Franklin (Grady Zielinski), Laurie Hernandez (Reese Imm), Bill Gates (Orion McKitrick), Ulysses S. Grant (Brady Jackson), “Shoeless” Joe Jackson (Mason Berg), LeBron James (Miller Hall), Helen Keller (Ali Everhart), Francis Scott Key (John Woodcock), Martin Luther King, Jr. (Starr Leonhart), Abraham Lincoln (Hayden Kuhlke), Rosa Parks (Kynlee Owens), Dolly Parton (Julie Wolf), Teddy Roosevelt (Jaron Nelson), Babe Ruth (Aiden Oldies), Carrie Underwood (Abby Bihn), Andy Warhol (Ella Wu) and George Washington (Kaiden Lacher).
